Little Activity, Lots of Attention for C. Johnson At Bengals' Minicamp

Wide receiver Chad Johnson indeed was at the Cincinnati Bengals' minicamp Thursday but didn't do much practicing.

The Bengals didn't seem to believe that Johnson wasn't injured but Johnson's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told reporters that the wideout was suffering from an ankle injury.

Johnson had threatened to boycott the minicamp and all offseason activities with the Bengals after demanding to be traded earlier in the offseason. But the Bengals refused, and Johnson avoided being fined by showing up for the mandatory minicamp.

"At some point earlier in the morning, he expressed to the medical staff that he had some sort of ailment and we're investigating what kind of ailment it is," Bengals Coach Marvin Lewis said during a news conference. "They're going to do some further studying. We'll see how it goes for the rest of the weekend."

Quarterback Carson Palmer refused to talk about Johnson during his news conference.
