T.O., Cowboys Agree to Three-Year Extension
Wide receiver Terrell Owens has agreed to a three-year, $27 million contract extension with the Dallas Cowboys, a source familiar with the situation said.
The deal includes $13 million in guaranteed money and runs through the 2011 season, said the source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the contract has not yet been announced.
Owens had one season remaining on the original three-year, $25 million contract that he signed with the Cowboys.

Guaranteed money is paid to the player regardless of injury or if he is cut.

When is someone going to hold Jerry Jones accountable for the Cowboys lack of success? The last postseason victory was Super Bowl XXX for this franchise, I am near certain that is accurate. That is horrible, since he launched Jimmy Johnson, he has run this team into the ground. Romo is unproven, TO is a cancer, Pacman, Tank....this franchise is in bad shape. His cash is the only thing he has got. He is building a new spaceage venue with the same roof, but c'mon. God isn't using the hole in the roof to see in anymore, he's using it to go number two!

I wonder if the "guaranteed" money is guaranteed contingent on a good-behavior clause. I think one of the few things that went Michael Vick's way in the past year was a ruling that his bonus money was still owed to him (maybe part of that was that his signing bonus couldn't be taken away from him).
If TO were to have a career-ending injury at the beginning of the 2008 season, what would he get paid? All $13 million of the guaranteed money, or just his salary for the 2008 season?
