Bengals Agree If C. Johnson Behaves, They'll Consider New Contract After Season
According to a league source, the Cincinnati Bengals agreed to consider reworking wide receiver Chad Johnson's contract after the season if Johnson is on his best behavior until then.
Johnson reported to training camp on time Sunday after an offseason of demanding, often and loudly, to be traded. The Bengals refused to honor the request.
The Bengals agreed to consider reworking the deal but stopped short of promising Johnson a new contract after the season if he doesn't create problems. Still, they're hoping that's enough to keep him from being a constant distraction.
