Brady Overjoyed By J. Taylor's Departure From Division

FOXBOROUGH, Mass.--Tom Brady said he was ecstatic to see pass-rushing defensive end Jason Taylor traded out of the AFC East, from the Miami Dolphins to the Washington Redskins.

"I think [Patriots left tackle Matt] Light and I popped a cold beer when we saw that transaction," the quarterback said here today. "We were the two happiest guys in the NFL.... We were hugging each other."

I think Tom Brady's comments were uncalled for. Is he afraid that Jason Taylor will beat his team again? Tom Brady is a first rate jerk with no conscience, from leaving his girlfriend pregnant, and knowing that his coach taped practice sessions of other teams for the country of young football fans to see. He should be ashamed and apologize to a lot of people. It is a terible thing to have him as a roll model for the youth of our country. It just shows how ignorant and small minded and egotistical he is. I applaud Jason Taylor for his football, his charities and being so humble. God bless you Jason Taylor in all your endeavors.

I think Tom Brady is just trying to flatter Jason Taylor...It's not an insult.

Uncalled for? TB didn't say ANYTHING but say that he was thrilled to not have to see Jason Taylor coming at him twice a year.

Here is the link for you to hear EXACTLY what he said. You'll find after you hear it, that you are more than a little off base.

brady and light probably made love afterwards

LOL...I don't think it went that way. I mean it was a light hearted exchange, but it wasn't like Jason and the Dolphins were successful against them.

Wow, wonder what would happen if the Giants were no longer able to smack them in the mouths.....might be similar to the Big Papi/Manny Ramirez shower celebration.

Actually Tom Brady is good friends with Jason Taylor and has talked on more than one occasion about what an incredible athlete and player Taylor is. In fact, if you are going to make stupid comments about Tom Brady, take the time to know him and read everything...not just the out of context comments you choose to form an opinion. In fact, Tom's family has sat with the Taylor family in their suite for several years when visiting Miami. Again, your comments are off base and taken out of context.

With respect to his ex-girlfriend, without knowing the situation I would suggest you stay out of it. They were broken up prior to her announcing her pregnancy. Also, he has payed more money in child support a month than you can imagine. In addition, he has split his offseason between coasts, attempting to spend more time with his son. While not the most perfect situation, he has stepped up as his role as a father. We wish more men would do the same. Whether or not you like him as a football player is your perogative, but without knowing the context of his personal character, you should limit your criticism to his professional play.

"Also, he has payed more money in child support a month than you can imagine."

What a guy.....it must be tough for him getting through day to day living paycheck to paycheck like that. Making $10 mill a year and paying child support.....gotta be rough living off off those millions.

Posted by: Duh | July 24, 2008 5:25 PM

I made no comment with respect to whether you should feel sorry for him, or he is paying too much... My point, duh, is that he has stepped up in every way possible to take care of his child. THis was in response to the the other fool.

"Wow, wonder what would happen if the Giants were no longer able to smack them in the mouths"

Wonder what game YOU were watching.....I'd call your cable company TOMORROW.

I enjoy all the Brady envy..."He's this and he's that...." but you'd love him on your team

I saw Tom Brady getting smacked around by the Giants D all game.....I guess you conveniently missed that. Averaging all those points throughout the REGULAR season, but then 14 points in the biggest Super Bowl game in history. 5 sacks is definitely getting punched in the mouth...

18-1 means nothing when that 1 is your last game

I don't usually enter into these kinda slagging-fests but I do have some comment to make. All the private life stuff aside, I PERSONALLY don't like to watch Brady play the game because, like all system-produced successes. he either looks unbeatable or "unhireable". When the system works he appears to be flawless and in control - he also appears to be gloating and more than a little supercilious, and it is THAT display of ego that tends to turn football fans into haters. But when the vaunted system either breaks down (as it did last SB) or is torn asunder and stomped into the ground (like it was in the last SB) then he looks, not just human but seriously flawed, AS A FOOTBALL player. He panics, yells at teammates, stamps his foot and holds his breath... that sorta thing.
I've never liked the Pats since the snowplough incident...(guess who MY team is...) but, just like the Cowboys that I had to suffer through during the Landry years, they are now too regimented.. too mechanised.. and folks, that ain't what the game is all about. Yeah, it can win some games for ya, and it, (with a little video help) can even get you to some Bowls and let you squeak out some wins - but a good "TEAM" playing with heart and attitude can beat another "team" with a few "stars" most Sundays of the year. The O-Line for the Pats has had the curtain pulled back to reveal a seriously flawed and getting worse buncha guys... and the fear factor of the unbeatable Pats has vanished into the ether of suddenly being a one man band (Welker).
I am happy to say that it's not just Jason Taylor that TB needs to worry about, but I do wonder what his own offensive line felt about his comments.. not the most flattering thing to say to a buncha guys who already got blamed for a lost SB, doncha think?

Just when I thought I've read the stupidest comments of the day (original poster), the last guy chimes in to top his ignorance. I am not a Brady fan, mostly because he does not play for my team, but I would love to have him on my team, because he's proven time and time again to be a winner. I've witnessed many, many Patriots games over the years (as they are always on tv and my team is not) and have never once seen anything close to you retarded description of him. I've seen him yell on the sidelines on occasions, but even I'm smart enough to decipher someone trying to motivate his team to play better. And I've never ever seen him stomp his feet or hold his breath, that is just a really dumb comment from a jealous fan. I would love for my quarterback to show that kind of emotion, or something close to it. His line men love him and would do anything for him. You need to need to concentrate on your own team (Dolphins) as they are a mess at quarterback. Shame on you for your petty comments.

LOL....the Giants "pressured" him all day, but he did lead his team down field late in the game to put them ahead before the Giants final drive.

18-1 or 18-1 means nothing now. The Giants made an incredible play on the final drive and earned the win. Biggest Super Bowl game in history? ROFLAMAO!

The Giants SACKED him 5 times....that's not pressure, that's SACKED.

Were you sleeping the two weeks before the Super Bowl. It was 19-0 this, 19-0 that. Greatest team ever this, greatest team ever that. The Patriots had a chance to do what NO other team has done, go undefeated in a 16 game regular season and go undefeated through the playoffs. Would have been considered the greatest team in NFL history....now just a footnote. Yes, I consider that to have been the biggest Super Bowl in history, as most intelligent people(yourself obviously not included) would have considered it. Brady choked, time to come to terms with that.

Posted by: Hnmmmm.... | July 25, 2008 1:52 PM

How did he choke...He led the team downfield once again and put them in the lead with less than a minute to go. He did not choke. He did everything that could have been asked of him. THe defense just couldn't make the stop. But don't blame Brady- he did his part.

Y'know, the problem with these sorta blogs is that they far too frequently degenerate into a "handbags at dawn" kinda dissin' contest. I read them because I'm interested in reading rational opinions about footbal, not just those that agree with mine... it's how one learns to expand one's mind. But for this sorta stuff I could just read the graffiti on any wall next to any NFL ground.

Hey Jagman.. "stomping his feet and holding his breath" was a tossaway bit of attempted humour - sorry it went over your head. He outright screamed at Welker ONFIELD during the SB after winging an errant pass out of bounds, hey kid we all SAW it.. y'know. Since the pats aren't your favourite team either, how come you get to comment but I can only focus on the Dolphins.
Tell me what it was I said that made me "stupid, dumb, ignorant, retarded or jealous".
It's a shame really, these blogs could be real great reading.
ah well.

I wasn't sleeping for the two weeks before the SB. I also wasn't (nor were the Patriots) saying "19-0". The biggest Super Bowl in history is just laugh out loud funny. Whoever makes it this season, I'm sure it will be the "biggest Super Bowl in histyr".

I don't have to come to terms with anybody choking in sports. Tom Brady didn't in that little game you talked about, and I only have come to terms is he's on my team again this season.
