C. Long, Rams Have Deal
Prized rookie defensive end Chris Long has a deal with the St. Louis Rams.
Terms of the agreement are not immediately clear but the deal will enable Long, the University of Virginia product and son of Hall of Famer Howie Long who was taken by the Rams with the second overall selection in the NFL draft in April, to report to training camp on time Thursday.
The top four picks in the draft now have agreed to contracts. The Miami Dolphins signed top selection Jake Long before the draft. The Atlanta Falcons signed Matt Ryan in May and the Oakland Raiders signed Darren McFadden in June.
However, only two of the other 27 first-rounders have agreed to deals: 18th pick Joe Flacco with the Baltimore Ravens and 30th choice Dustin Keller with the New York Jets.
