No Formal Reinstatement Request Yet By Favre

As of 5:45 p.m., Brett Favre had not filed a formal request with the NFL office asking Commissioner Roger Goodell to reinstate him.

It's a formality. Goodell has made it clear that he will reinstate Favre once Favre formally requests to return from retirement. But it's a necessary formality if Favre is going to play this season.
