Packers Might Be Able to Keep Favre Off Field Until Tuesday

Glancing at the Packers' practice schedule, it's looking more and more like Brett Favre isn't likely to be on the field before Tuesday, even if he reports to training camp and isn't traded.

He wasn't reinstated today. Even if he's reinstated Friday, the Packers can wait another 24 hours before putting him on the roster. That potentially wipes out the Packers' practice scheduled for Saturday afternoon. There's an evening scrimmage Sunday, and no practices scheduled Monday.

The delay in reinstating Favre could be buying a lot of time, indeed, for the Packers.
