McCarthy Not Commenting on Favre Meeting

Packers Coach Mike McCarthy declined to comment on today's meeting in Mississippi between team president Mark Murphy and quarterback Brett Favre.

McCarthy was asked about it during his daily news conference in Green Bay.

Favre participated in the meeting at Cook's office in Hattiesburg, Miss., and then left.

There still is no immediate word on the outcome. Murphy reportedly planned to ask Favre not to report to the Packers' training camp in Green Bay.

Also, a source said it's possible that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell won't act today on Favre's reinstatement request to give the parties more time to work out a resolution.
