Rivers Okay, Gates Still on Mend at Chargers' Camp

Quarterback Philip Rivers declared himself fully healthy at the San Diego Chargers' training camp today.

Rivers underwent surgery for a torn anterior cruciate ligament after playing with an ailing knee in the AFC title game.

Tight end Antonio Gates did some running on a side field as Chargers rookies and selected veterans began camp.

Gates told reporters that the toe injury that plagued him during last season's playoffs is about 70 percent healed.

He underwent offseason surgery.
