Belichick Not Saying if Brady Will Play in Final Preseason Game

Bill Belichick, naturally, isn't providing any clues about whether quarterback Tom Brady will play in the New England Patriots' preseason finale, a rematch of the Super Bowl teams against the New York Giants.

"Tom is in the same boat as everybody else," the Patriots coach said during his news conference today. "Each player has his own situation and they are not all the same. Tom obviously has a lot of playing experience and has a lot of experience in this system. If they are able to play, then they will play. If they are not able to play or we don't want to play them, then we won't. We really haven't made those decisions yet on the Giants game, so we will see how that goes after practice today before we go tomorrow."

Brady has been sidelined by a sore right foot. He said this week his foot was improving and he hoped to be allowed to play in the final preseason game.

He also indicated he expected to be ready for the Sept. 7 regular season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.
