Eagles, Westbrook Complete New Contract

The Philadelphia Eagles have announced that they've completed a new contract with tailback Brian Westbrook.

Terms of the deal were not immediately available but Westbrook had been seeking to become one of the league's top-paid running backs.

He was two seasons into a five-year, $25 million contract.

The Eagles open the preseason tonight against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

UPDATE (10 p.m.)... Westbrook's contract is worth at least $21 million over three seasons, including about $13 million in guaranteed money over the next two seasons.
