Falcons Cut J. Harrington, M. Pollard

The Atlanta Falcons have announced their cuts and among the players released are quarterback Joey Harrington and tight end Marcus Pollard.

The Falcons previously had decided to go with rookie Matt Ryan as their starter at quarterback, and kept Chris Chandler and D.J. Shockley over Harrington.

Pollard failed to make the season-opening roster after the Falcons had signed him following his recent release by the New England Patriots.
