Favre Expected to Practice This Afternoon

Quarterback Brett Favre is expected to be on the field with the New York Jets for their 1:30 p.m. practice today.

Favre passed his physical Friday.

He joined the Jets for their preseason opener Thursday night in Cleveland after being obtained in a late-night trade Wednesday with the Green Bay Packers.

Coach Eric Mangini already has named Favre the club's Opening Day starter at quarterback so the Jets don't have any time to waste getting Favre ready for the season.
