Jets Likely to Withhold Favre From Preseason Finale

Brett Favre has been lobbying to play in the New York Jets' preseason finale, but Coach Eric Mangini told reporters today that he's leaning toward withholding his quarterback from the game.

The Jets play Thursday night at Philadelphia.

If Favre doesn't play against the Eagles, he will have had two preseason games and just less than a month of practices to ready for the Sept. 7 regular season opener at Miami.
