Packers Put Favre on Roster

GREEN BAY, Wis.--The Green Bay Packers have placed quarterback Brett Favre back on their roster, on the same day his reinstatement by the NFL became official.

The Packers placed cornerback Condrew Allen on the injured reserve list with a knee injury to create a roster spot.

The Packers technically had 24 hours after Favre's reinstatement by the league to trade him, release him or put him back on the roster, but had agreed to make a move today.

He had been on the team's reserve-retired list. Favre's $12 million salary for this season now goes back on the Packers' salary cap.

The league announced Sunday that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was reinstating Favre, effective at 1 p.m. Eastern time today.

LO

Brett changed his mind about retirement.

So what?

Soooo...the big, fat Packer management-guys
...are upset.

See, how...they whine...about not enough warning, you know...it challenges...our great Packer-management "plans," you know!

Packer coaches and management are worried ...about their "plans" for this year.

Wouldn't want to interfere with the "plans"
....would we?

No Brett...no playoffs. That is the "plan"
...bozos.

Face it...these "plans" are just so many marks on paper.

Brett plays on the field...with the warm breath of offending lineman and linebackers...in his nose and ears.

And he plays it to win.

He doesn't play to..."plan."

Put the "plans"...away.

This ain't Lego.

Only one plan...Big Brett.

Thanks,

- Jimmy B

Well I guess the baby whined enough to get his way. When i think of Favre i think interception, like the one he threw to basically lose the NFC champ game. Well here is to another year of ALMOST making it. Gotta love these overpaid i am bigger than the game atheletes. Him and Chad johnson should get together at the game monday and compare notes. let's call this preseason game the temper tantrum bowl shall we?

Brett Favre is much like many of us (except, of course, that he is immensely popular, a millionaire, and free to select what he does or doesn't do). Still, he loves the game and feels he can still compete. I'm sure the lure of retiring after a great season influenced his original decision, but if the fire is still there, I say let him follow his heart. As for those who think he can't win the "big one," at least he gives the Packers - a low budget team in a small market - the opportunity to dream about it. Oh, and after all, he IS one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game. Maybe that should count for something, too.

Yea, Yea, yea, I've been a fan through the good ol' years with brett during the 90's he's broken the record books he's proven himself and i can only imagine the burden over his head of his final play in the nfl being an interception in the NFC championship game that was played better than the superbowl itself. I'm not saying that this is all true but from what I've investigated and paid attention on about this case is that

1. Aaron Rodgers, 1st draft pick by Green Bay, signed 4 year contract at $7 million not including perks that would add up to a total of $12 million.

2. Favre signed LIFETIME CONTRACT with Green Bay 2001 garuanteing his number being retired after all is said and done.

3. Farve has considered retirement for a number of years and Retired March of 2008 preparing Rodgers for his fourth season with the Green Bay Packers.

Farve was most likely urged to retire on the fact that Rodgers is getting away without the Packers getting their money worth out of the 1st round pick.

Farve has had one of the longest running careers in the nfl for any major player. Not only this but only 1 other quarterback taking over a legend has succeeded in such a way that Aaron Rodgers leaves those possibilities open. Like you said Ken what ever it was made no sense at all it seemed as you were questioning your own question by adding "too." at the end of your statement.

1. Steve Young
2. Tom Brady
(3. Aaron Rodgers)

what will be the relationship of these names? any true football fan knows what they are talking about when they say they are over somebody. Bretts giving us good times but we've had many bad times with him too. look at the facts yea he's broke every major record that a quarterback could feat but has he not broken the interception record so it only made sense his last play would be just that and for this next year he's gonna do even worse and has more weight on him than when we where 13-2 with a horrible previous season record to that and then to retire and decide to come back. All I have to say do you want to remember Favre for almost getting us there again or failing miserably his last season and losing our next great hope Aaron Rodgers. As much faith as we put in Favre why can't it be on Rodgers don't you want to see the Cowboys finally get stomped by Greenbay the statistics show we have a better chance of that with Rodgers rather than Brett and thats just one game I say it's time to unleash the Pitbul thats been patient for his moment to dominate!!!!

I'M A GREEN BAY PACKERS FAN! NOT FAVRES FAN!! I didn't fall in love with the team just cause of Favre you people have forgotten what the Packers are all about without searching google 12 Championships 3 Superbowls 2 Dynasty's All time greatest coach Vince Lombardi All time greatest QB Brett Favre All time Greatest sacker Reggie White, Bart Start, Ahmed Green, Donald Driver, Antonio Freeman, and now Aaron Rodgers we have a future!!!!
