Ravens to Show Phelps's Race Saturday Night on Stadium Video Boards

The Baltimore Ravens have announced that NBC is allowing the team to show swimmer Michael Phelps's race Saturday night at the Olympics in Beijing on the video boards at M&T Bank Stadium

Phelps potentially will be swimming for his record eighth gold medal of these Games.

The Ravens said they're encouraging fans to stay at the stadium after their preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings to watch the live broadcast of their hometown Olympian competing.

"All of us are excited about what Michael is accomplishing, and it will be fun to salute him in this way," Gabrielle Dow, the Ravens' vice president of marketing, said in a written statement.

What a great idea. Kudos to NBC to allow the Ravens to broadcast it. I wish I was going to be there.

I would say this is people paying to watch Michael Phelps on the big screen and getting a Ravens game thrown in for free.....maybe the O's can come up with something similar to make people watch their putrid team.
