Scary Moment During Jets Game

CLEVELAND--There was a scary moment during the Jets-Browns game here Thursday night when backup tight end A.J. Schable suffered an apparent neck injury while trying to make a tackle for the Jets on a second-half kickoff and was taken from the field on a stretcher.

Schable gave a thumbs-up sign before being put into an ambulance and taken to a nearby hospital for tests.

"He does have movement in his arms and legs," Jets Coach Eric Mangini said after the game. "He had good strength. He'll go through a full evaluation."

Players on both teams stood or kneeled on the field, forming a large semi-circle around Schable, as he received medical attention.

Schable slumped to the ground after a helmet-to-helmet collision with a Browns blocker.
