Seahawks Shorthanded at Wideout

The Seattle Seahawks are shorthanded at wide receiver.

Bobby Engram is to be sidelined for 6-8 weeks with what the team is calling a cracked shoulder.

Engram had 94 catches last season before spending the offseason in a contract dispute with the team.

Deion Branch, coming off offseason knee surgery, is on the physically unable to perform list. The Seahawks hope he's ready for the start of the regular season but aren't certain of that.

Meanwhile, the Seahawks released defensive tackle Marcus Tubbs. The former first-round draft choice failed a physical Monday as he tried to return from knee surgery.
