Strahan Rejects Giants, Will Remain Retired

Michael Strahan told Fox that he will remain retired and won't return to the New York Giants.

Strahan works for the network as an NFL analyst.

"This has been one of the toughest nights of my life," Strahan told the network's website. "But after long deliberation and throwing around a million scenarios in my head for the past day, I think it's just best if I stay retired.

"I have gone back and forth on this because as a player you'll always want to play. You'll never lose that urge to be out there. But I could only do this if I could commit 100 percent, physically, mentally, emotionally, and I can't do that. I've tried to convince myself and my body to give it one more year, but in the end I just don't think I could turn it on like I need to again."

Strahan retired during the offseason. The Giants contacted him about the possibility of returning after learning Sunday that fellow defensive end Osi Umenyiora had suffered a season-ending knee injury during a preseason game against the New York Jets on Saturday.

The Giants have moved Mathias Kiwanuka, a former first-round draft choice shifted to outside linebacker last season, back to defensive end. Kiwanuka likely will join Justin Tuck as the team's starters at defensive end.

^^^^^Typical skins fan. Also out of touch with reality, always thinking they're always going to be ahead of their opponents.

reality > fantasy=skins fan

It's a 50/50 chance that either:

1. Giants will finish the season worse than 8/8.

or

2. Strahan will soon live with Tiki in an apartment in midtown.

Way to go out on top fool! - Mr.T would say to Strahan.

Mr. T also pities Brett Favre, he might not of come back if he had a commentary job like Strahan.

Favre is already a little punch-drunk, if he didn't have football to lean on, he'd resemble John Daly.

Farnsworth is just hating 'cause his team sucks this year.

Hey Farnsworth - you hit the nail right on the head. The Deadskins fans are by definition delusional. After 30 years of living among them I've watched fan enthusiasm ebb and flow along with the team's fortunes. The one thing that stands out is that as soon as the team starts doing well, everyone is all of a sudden sporting Skins' hats, shirts, etc, and the local media run all all over themselves claiming that they are the "official" this or that of the Washington Redskins. When the team is failing, they turn on the players and coaches. What a vile bunch of self-centered nincompoops.

I remember the days of George Allen as head coach. Talk about a sc_umbag! His dopey son took after him for sure, and look at where he is. LOL

These days, with Snyder as the owner, they continue the long tradition of being the most easily loathed and ridiculed team in the league.

Here's hoping for another long and miserable losing season.
