T. Spikes Signs With Niners

Veteran linebacker Takeo Spikes signed with the San Francisco 49ers late Sunday.

Spikes also had drawn interest recently from the Detroit Lions.

He could be a starter in San Francisco after the 49ers released linebacker Brandon Moore earlier Sunday.

The 49ers become Spikes's fourth NFL team following stints with the Cincinnati Bengals, Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles. He was in Philadelphia for only one season.
