Texans Release Colvin

The Houston Texans released linebacker Rosevelt Colvin.

Colvin, formerly of the New England Patriots, had signed with the Texans as a free agent in the offseason.

The Texans signed him to be a pass-rushing defensive end but felt, after seeing him in training camp and the preseason, he wasn't going to be effective in that role.

NFL teams must reduce their rosters to 53 players each by Saturday afternoon.
