Warner Over Leinart in Arizona?
There is growing speculation that the Arizona Cardinals will go with Kurt Warner as their starter at quarterback over Matt Leinart, who threw three interceptions in Saturday's preseason game against the Oakland Raiders.
Leinart completed only 4 of 12 passes for 24 yards against the Raiders and had a passer rating of 2.8
ESPN reported that the Cardinals have picked Warner.
Warner made 11 starts last season, when Leinart suffered a broken collarbone. Warner threw for 27 touchdowns and more than 3,400 yards last season. He is in his fourth season with the Cardinals.
Leinart, a first-round draft pick in 2006, made 11 starts as a rookie and five last season. He has thrown 13 touchdown passes and 16 interceptions in his two NFL seasons.

1. I doubt shes a skank.
2. Warner played last year injured,
3. ML sat out on IR
4. ML has not played a full NFL season
5. You are an idiot
Posted by: Warners Wife | August 25, 2008 1:01 AM
Kenneth,
Warner has missed a total of 3 starts due to injury in the last 5 seasons.
Leinart has suffered 2 season-ending injuries in his last 5 sacks.
Learn the game.
And try to learn some class too, punk.

The Cardinals are not showing enough faith in Leinart He has only started 16 games and the first 5 of last year the team put no faith in him looking at this rating which now stands at 71.2 which is the same rating Peyton had after his first 16 games and peyton had throwing 28 int. And he will be in the hall of fame. Also Troy Aikman first two season had raiting of 55 and 66. All I'm saying is to see if hes going to be a good QB you need to put faith in the QB and give them a chance to play. Even ELi first 3 season were up and down and he never click as a QB until near the end of seeason 3 and look what he did once it all click we were saying he was a bust. So before we say Leinart is a bust the team actually needs to see what they have with him by playing him the first few games if he no good put warner in we already know what we got with warner/

"So before we say Leinart is a bust the team actually needs to see what they have with him by playing him the first few games..."
I've seen enough, thank you.
"the same rating Peyton had after his first 16 games and peyton had throwing 28 int"
I love this argument:
Peyton Manning and Troy Aikman sucked early on, and Leinart sucked early on, so therefore Leinart will be Peyton Manning or Troy Aikman.
Ha!
Besides, Manning really only took 11 games to figure it out. His final 5 games of his rookie season, he threw 10 TD's and 6 INT's. He was looking pretty good the last 1/3 of the season.
Face it. Matt Leinart is the current incarnation of Ryan Leaf. Case closed!

As Kurt Warner is lying on the ground in pain, he'll wonder why his god has deserted him.
Posted by: Kenneth | August 25, 2008 10:50 AM
kenneth,
I'm sure you never played football...ever. Not even touch. And I'm sure you have dated a lot of skanks. That would explain both your complete lack of knowledge in the first argument and actual depth of experience in the second. I'm sure God loves you too, but it must be hard for him.
Posted by: Dc | August 25, 2008 11:02 AM
I played fours years of football in high school, granted, it was at receiver and safety.
And yes, I've dated a few skanks, not too many though.
However, anyone who gives his life over to Jesus, is simply stupid. Again, it will be fun to see Kurt Warner writhing around on the ground in pain.
Maybe Jesus will save him from traumatic injury, will see if God wants him to make it through the season.
Posted by: Kenneth | August 25, 2008 12:15 PM
Warner deserves the starting position... Matt will catch on eventually... One caveat though: the girl and party scene here in PHX is pretty overwhelming and he is but a kid and has been caught up in it. He will have to refocuse and get his "house" in order.
Kenneth: Funny side note... The only guys I know that go by the "whole" name and not the "Ken, Tom, or Will" of it are those who "switch hit" if you catch my meaning ... you are commenting on the wrong sport son!
Posted by: Big Daddy | August 25, 2008 12:19 PM
Big Daddy,
Very true, people who don't have one-syllable names are pretty gay.
Never thought about that, thanks for your insight.
But what does that have to do with Kurt Warner being a Jesus-freak?
Posted by: Kenneth | August 25, 2008 12:31 PM
Kennith... you silly savage...
I made my point to the starting position prior to the "side note" about your fruitiness!
Jesus is his Lord and Savior... I guess if we look at the way both have been playing: Warner is a "Jesus freak" as you put it (you Kennith are a dumb ass w/ an IQ well below avg. I'm sure) but he is playing top level football. Matt, has been partying & womanizing (which is fine but it F's with your focus)... I think I would take the former.
For your limited IQ Kennith, that means, the Jesus Freak thing might just be working!
When your IQ reaches 140 son... you are allowed a viable opinion. Until that time... you are but the village idiot shouting incoherrent half thoughts in the town square!
Posted by: Big Daddy | August 25, 2008 12:48 PM
It's obvious that religiosity is negatively correlated with education. In general, religious people are less educated than the surrounding population.
Example: Reggie White. As dumb, bigoted, (and religious) as people get.
Anyways, how can people respect people who follow middle-eastern, bronze-age stories? Kurt Warner believes in that garbage.
At least Lienart isn't mentally weak (like Warner) and doesn't feel the need to believe fairy-tales to make himself feel better.
Posted by: Kenneth | August 25, 2008 1:01 PM
Kennith:
You are a naive soul... The devil drives your hate for someone who loves and trusts in Jesus... YOU are too blinded by it to see that YOU are the bigoted hater!
You are no better than a racist... only you are guilty of hate against someone who belives in Christ! In fact worse, because Christians like Warner are beliving in a Lord God who is loving and caring and selfless.
You are a Christian Bigot... It does not get more evil and simply bad than that.
You are a horrible human being... If you need someone to hate.. hate rapists and child molesters... they are worthy of hate!
Posted by: Big Daddy | August 25, 2008 1:16 PM
PS Kennith:
Go take an IQ test... if it does not register at 140 or higher... you are not worthy to have an opinion.
Education does not matter... what you have studied does not matter... if you do not have a CORE intellect then you do not have the privilege of a valid opinion.
Now Go! Quickly!
Posted by: Big Daddy | August 25, 2008 1:22 PM
Warner is a superbowl champion and two time league MVP. He almost set the franchise record in AZ for touchdown passes last season. In eleven games.
Leinart is an overhyped Socal party boy with inadequate arm strength. He was passed over by nine teams for a reason. His entitlement mentality is glaring.
This is a no-brainer. The Cardinals should be trying to unload Leinart, focus on finding Warner's eventual replacement, and go with Warner as long as they can. If they provide Warner with adequate O-Line protection, he's still one of the league's elite quarterbacks. Yeah, he's not highly mobile, but his job is to pass, not run.
Posted by: DJS | August 25, 2008 1:23 PM
Well said DJS...
Matt was highly overrated at USC, like most of "them" are. He can find himself, but he needs to soak up all he can from Warner... he needs a blue collar NFC North team to break him down and build him back up.
They are working on that pass protection with the addition of the two tight end formation... they are headed in the right direction... they just need to let Warner call set audibles so that they are not trying to force plays that are well defended... they have tried to force a run when it is not there and likewise with the pass. That is why the Colts, Pats, and Giants have had so much success... adapt and overcome!
Posted by: Big Daddy | August 25, 2008 1:47 PM
Evangelicals like Warner do things like:
1. Get GW elected not once, but twice.
2. Hinder stem-cell research.
3. Attend mega-churches.
PS- What's up with the 140 IQ thing? I doubt many people that smart believe in things that have no evidence (deities, resurrections, etc).
I suppose I am a christian-bigot, but I'm also a bigot against adults whom believe in bigfoot, ghosts, and leprechauns.
Wouldn't you be prejudiced against a QB who truly believed in and worshiped leprechauns?
Posted by: Kenneth | August 25, 2008 1:47 PM
Kennith:
I'm about a 150 IQ and I am a Christian who does not attend a mega church, but I love GW... and have no problem with steam cell as long as it does not come from KILLING an innocent baby. They should take them from murderers, rapists, and liberals! ;-)
There is an old quote I'm sure you have heard: Sir Winston Churchill said: "If you are not a liberal at 20 you don't have a heart... but if you are not a Conservative at 30 you don't have a brain!"
Furthermore, genetics have as much to do w/ IQ as do common sense, and learned knowledge. I bet your gene pool is found wanting... badly!
Posted by: Big Daddy | August 25, 2008 1:56 PM
I highly doubt that someone with a 150 IQ would:
1. Be a GW Bush fan.
2. Believe in things (God, Jesus, etc) where there is absolutely no evidence to back it up.
3. Use a pompous British Order titles such as "Sir".
4. Root for Kurt Warner, who is an evangelical.
Posted by: Kenneth | August 25, 2008 2:34 PM
5. Constantly refer to IQs, whenever they get the chance.
Posted by: Kenneth | August 25, 2008 2:35 PM
I couldn't care less what religion (if any) these QBs choose. If they want to blame god, thank god, pray to RA, or dig a hole and thank the worm that helps the grass grow for whatever they do on the field why should it matter one iota? As far as the IQ argument...who cares? How did you get tested Mr. @150? You do know that would put you in the top .5% or so right? So far you have said nothing that makes me believe you. For Buddha's sake GW has a 135...try proving that one.
On the subject matter though. ML did a nice job of giving away his starting status on Saturday, it'll only cost the team 735K for him to ride the pine this year. In the event KW does end up crucified, well it'll be either Leinart or St. Pierre coming in, while most of the Cardinals faithful are cursing whatever deity comes to mind first.
Posted by: vdancer | August 25, 2008 2:40 PM
Just proves my point... the bottom line is Warner is a better QB at present!
Please go and get tested... go take a test... but God's sake STOP trying to form opinions on that which you do not have the intellect for.
YES 147 to be precise my boy... tested many times through my military background, personal, etc.
Furthermore, GW's IQ has been run through the muck by you liberal BS experts.
The problem w/ you liberals is you ought not like football (too violent for your femm A$$E$) but here you are commenting on it.
You LIBS are a Bunch of same sex loving, baby killing, death row convict helping, enemy sympathizer, male/female identity crisis, fema-nazi, socialist, quazi-marxist communist, taxing, two bit flaming cowards. You don't represent football or its fan base... so go away! You are too dumb to understand the dynamics of the sport or the world around you!
Posted by: Big Daddy | August 25, 2008 2:57 PM
Fair enough on Warner, I agree.
Been tested once 138, 1580 SAT as well, which would have made me think the IQ number would be higher. Different tests produce different results though, so whatever.
I can buy that. Well done.
Really though, I voted for GW, he has for the most part embarrassed me, especially in the context of his speech giving ability, decisions wise, I don't have the same information he does, so I cannot comment.
Liberal or not (I am not, I'd classify myself as a moderate/conservative on most issues) what does that have to do with football?
Your last rant, while amusing was obviously meant to illicit a response, so here you go. WHAT????, you embarrass yourself and sound like an imbecile (IQ 26-40) making remarks like that.
Posted by: vdancer | August 25, 2008 3:08 PM
Vdancer:
That was meant as a response to the former... addressing his assessment of evangelicals (which I am not, I'm Catholic) Mr. Kennith.
I only put a "snippet" for your viewing and responding pleasure.
As far as football is concerned... if you look at the liberal talking points football should not be a favorite of theirs... too barbaric!
Posted by: Big Daddy | August 25, 2008 3:12 PM
BigDaddy,
:-), this is definitely more entertaining than I was expecting to see out of a Cardinals QB thread.
Thank you, I did enjoy it.
You are right, but the talking points that are dear to "elite" liberals, are not, in my estimation, esteemed as highly by the masses. There are exceptions of course..Kenneth, who may well have something stuck in place that would make me as angry as he seems to be.
So Kenneth, based on your "talking points" so far...Atheist, you may be intelligent but your statements sound like things that would be said by someone diagnosed with Profound Idiocy, look it up for the IQ. Also, doubting something is not a strong argument, so I am forced to take everything you say with a healthy dose of skepticism.
Finally..."4. Root for Kurt Warner, who is an evangelical." The man will be a HOFer, his credentials up until recently have been excellent, he is a great leader in the locker room, and last season threw 27 TD's in 12 games, his best output since he took the Rams to the big dance. I don't care if he bows to the East daily and prays to Allah, I think he can lead the Cardinals.
Posted by: Anonymous | August 25, 2008 3:25 PM
Calling Warner's wife a skank adds nothing to your claims or post. It shows you to be totally classless and puts doubt into your entire post. Have you ever met his wife? Kurt Warner appears to me to be one of the class guys in the NFL. As a 38 year old he will stand tall in the pocket and wait until the last moment to throw while taking big hits from oncoming TE's and Linebackers. He has probably spent less time on the injured list in his long NFL career than Matt has in one season.
Posted by: John H | August 25, 2008 3:31 PM
We're getting off topic:
Kurt Warner believes in an bronze-age, middle-eastern, vengeful, jealous God.
He also believes this God had a son, much makes Kurt Warner bi-theistic. Oh, his son sacrificed himself for our "sins".
Shouldn't modern society move on and mock people who believe in this garbage?
For this reason only, Leinart should start in Arizona.
Posted by: Kenneth | August 25, 2008 3:38 PM
John H.
Brilliant!
Posted by: Big Daddy | August 25, 2008 3:45 PM
Kennith:
NO we should mock home-O's who use their full name... KEN!
You are the biggest tool I have come across in a long time... and the dullest one in the shed at that!
Posted by: Big Daddy | August 25, 2008 3:47 PM
Well, the topic is who should start for the Cardinals. Religion should have no bearing on that, performance should. Therefor, KW should be the starter.
Moving to off the topic.
Why should we mock believers of any deity or followers of any religion? Some people really need belief in a higher power just to cope with their own existence. Also, being raised following a certain religion for most people is extremely difficult to overcome through reason. Also, why do you feel the need to push your belief in the absence of God in a manner similar to evangelicals who push their brand of religion on everyone. You, to me, don't sound any better. Did you just recently stop believing and feel the need to "be a witness?"
Posted by: Anonymous | August 25, 2008 3:48 PM
John H.
While I agree with most of what you said..I really don't think he can take to many big hits. Last season he got pretty beat up, too much more and Leinart will be starting.

Sorry, the last 2 Anon posts were from me.
Posted by: vdancer | August 25, 2008 3:52 PM
Obviously, IQ cannot be a correct form of test to see someone's smartness. If someone thinks stem cell research is more barbaric than invading other nation and killing hundreds of thousands of people and displacing millions and have ~150 in IQ test to back up his/her intelligence, something is seriously wrong with that test.
Posted by: Rockme Sexyjesus | August 25, 2008 3:55 PM
Should people be mocked who believe things in the absence of evidence?
Would you want to spend eternity in "heaven" with the likes of Kurt Warner, his disgusting wife, Pat Robertson, or Falwell?
Wouldn't hell be infinitely better in this case?
I mean, why can't people be rational. It's seems pretty ridiculous to be afraid to die.
When Kurt Warner gets hurt, I'll watch the replay on SportsCenter and smile.
Posted by: Kenneth | August 25, 2008 4:02 PM
Big Daddy,
Just a note: STEM cells cannot come from rapists, murderers, etc. They are cell which have not yet received their "assignment" and are found within humans which are not fully developed, i.e fetuses and of course Kenneth.
:)
Posted by: Travis | August 25, 2008 4:44 PM
Kennith...
You believe that you are worthy of an opinion despite the absence of valuable enlightenment & veracity!
So, I suppose anything is quite possible right?
Even a proven morose fool like you can believe that you are viable with your goad statements... when the fact is you are nothing more than vile & odious!
Pathetic, you truly are!
Posted by: Big Daddy | August 25, 2008 4:46 PM
Travis,
Thank you Sir, I am aware. I was making a back handed joke on the fact that until recently they needed to take an innocent life to procure stem cells... and they liberals have no issue with that... but they cry foul when we incorporate capital punishment for well deserved "peopl"... I was in essence saying we should kill rapists and the like instead of innocent life.
Thought that was an understood joke... sorry for the confusion!
Posted by: Big Daddy | August 25, 2008 4:51 PM
It's sad that our society values piety.

Why are you wishing I commit suicide?
You're not being a good catholic. Shame on you.
When Jesus returns to the earth and the dead rise from their graves, family members of people who committed suicide (and perhaps the babies caught in purgatory) will be angry with you.
Shame on you for this and voting for W.
Posted by: Kenneth | August 25, 2008 8:01 PM
Also, since you're catholic, your loyalty to a the Vatican (a foreign government) is unpatriotic.
At least Kurt Warner is a real American, unlike you.
Posted by: Kenneth | August 25, 2008 8:07 PM
I belive I heard that KW has a better passer rating than any other ACTIVE QB. Yes even Brady. I like ML but think he is still in party mode. Maybe he will never come out and will need to be jetisoned.
Ha. That Kenneth. Haha what a piece of work. The kind of guy who says he would like to watch other people suffer. He says he would enjoy it. That is the kind of guy who goes into a mall with an AK-47.
How could you expect him to stay on the topic? Probably abused as a child.
Posted by: Anonymous | August 25, 2008 8:10 PM
God will protect Kurt from catastrophic injury, just like he allowed Reggie White to have a wonderful retirement.
Kurt should just his trust in the Lord, and Jesus, though that makes him polytheistic, by definition.
Posted by: Kenneth | August 25, 2008 8:17 PM
Man Kenneth you gonna hate this.
http://jcsuperstars.wordpress.com/2008/01/26/faith-factor-seen-in-nfl-conduct-policy/
Did you know the world campion Patriots have a team chaplain? The bears also have one? Wow Christ must be big in the old NFL. Wonder if that is why you always see those whole teams of grown men on their knees praying befor a game.
Maybe you just feel left out?
Posted by: Anonymous | August 25, 2008 10:34 PM
Inherently, players in the NFL aren't exactly intellectuals, they're more like factory workers.
While there are intelligent players who took difficult classes in college, most of the players were treated as athletes in college and probably didn't learn very much. Some can barely read.
Watch "whole teams of grown men" praying is simply is a little bit creepy.
Its especially odd when they attribute wins to god, like Tony Dungee did after his Superbowl win.
Posted by: Kenneth | August 26, 2008 10:01 AM
Kenneth,
You are the type of person who ignores the obvious facts that are right in front of your face. You make stupid comments that have no evidence or proof to back you up but actually have much evidence going against what you say... that is just complete idiocy. 1)Warner is proven to be a better qb. 2)Playes through injury unlike that panzi who is over payed and babied like a little mamas boy. 3) religion has nothing to do with A qb not starting. 4) religion is important in life... without it who is to say whats right and what is wrong... it would be up to the biggest problem to society... people like you who cant make an intelligent decision. You are so dumb you might not know this so ill let you in on it... did you know that today you have all these freedoms because of people who died for your freedoms? many were Christian. Our country was found on Christianity. So if you wanna cry bout Christianity and our country move to a communist country where the gov't controlls your entire life.

Warner will last a few games before he's injured, then its back to Leinart.
Then again, it'll be fun to see born-again Warner (who's married to a skank wife) get injured.
