Archery: Wunderle Moves On

U.S. archer Vic Wunderle is among the final 16 competitors in the men's individual round after winning two elimination matches at the Beijing Olympic Green Archery Field on Wednesday.

Wunderle beat Eduardo Velez of Mexico 106-102 in the first round and Ilario Di Buo of Italy in a one arrow shootout, 10-8. The scored was tied at 108 after 12 arrows. Wunderle advances to the round of eight on Friday, where he will face Im Dong-Hyun of Korea at 11:48.

Wunderle's teammates Brady Ellison and Butch Johnson were eliminated in the second round. Johnson defeated Andrey Abramov of Russia in a three-arrow shootout after being tied 109-109, then lost to Im Dong-Hyun of Korea 115-106.
