Baseball: U.S. Beats Taiwan
Dexter Fowler went 3-for-3 and John Gall was 2-for-3 with a solo home run to pace the U.S. baseball team to a 4-2 victory over Taiwan at Wukesong Baseball Field Tuesday evening.
Brandon Knight struck out five and walked two in 6.1 innings to pick up his first win of the tournament, while Kevin Jepsen closed out the ninth to pick up his first save.
The win ensures that the U.S. will advance to the semifinals, with its seeding dependent on the outcome of the final game in pool play against Japan, scheduled for Wednesday.
