Baseball: U.S. Over Canada
Brian Barden went 2-4 with a home run to spark the U.S. baseball team to a come-from-behind, 5-4 win over Canada Saturday afternoon at Wukesong Baseball Field.
Barden's home run came in the fourth inning, when the Americans plated two runs to start their comeback from a 4-0 deficit. They added one in the fifth, then scored the tying and go-ahead runs in the eighth. The win evens the U.S. record at 2-2 going into a rest day on August 17. They return to action on Monday against China at 7 p.m.
Brian Duensing picked up his first win of the tournament, coming on in the sixth inning in relief of Brett Anderson. Duensing allowed only one hit and struck out three in 3.2 innings of work.
