It' been an incredible Jamaica, whom the world was not aware of, at least I was not, may be my fault for not keeping abreast with latest sporting happenings. However INSANE BOLT was great to see. Hope he does'nt report positive as the whole system is after the Jamaican Contingent for their fabulous performance.

Gautam,

For you not to be aware of Jamaica means you're not an athletic fan. It therefore fitting to ask, where were you when Merlene Joyce Ottey (" THE BRONZE QUEEN")was blazing the tracks across the world, both at the olympics and the world games, WHERE WERE YOU????

I don't think we have to worry about a positive drug test. I understand that they were tested 32 times within 7 days that the Jamaican athletic official were worried that all the needle pokes were going to affect the athletes performance and throughout all that look at the performance. I am always and will always be proud to be a Jamaican.

we have only been doing the unexpected and the miraculous for some 60 years. Our sports women and men have been and remain among the greatest for decades. Veronica was bettering her own feat at the Athens olympics and Melanie repeated what Hemmings did in Atlanta Never heard of McKinley, Laing, Quarrie, Gardner, Ottey, (still competing in her 40's)
and the many others??? we have watched allthese world beaters from their school days at the annual championships and now we are coaching them at home - these are all home bred thank you....

I endorse Syringa's comments. We have been doing great things in track and field from time immemorial. Now that the steroids pharmacy is closed the real talent is on show for the world to see. I am so proud of the Jamican contingent and I feel we have been so cheated each time I think of Merlene.

to some, we were merely a dot during a weather report making americans aware of the path of hurricanes and tropical storms.to americans this should be a classic example of a didaster that was brewing for them in track events; the doping scandals, the unilateral focus on only their athletes as the best and unsurpassable-the all watched the weather reports alright they just failed to see what type of devastating weather was brewing for sixty years in a lttle island of 2.8 million; they failed to acnowledge that witfield lost to mckenley and wintthey failed to acknowledge donald quarrie, the true routes of linford christie and donovan bailey; they focussed too much on the lewis, the burrells, greene, drummond, gatlin and gay; they forgot watch the weather report to expect the highly charged potency of insanely homegrown lightning bolts nurtured not on the sophisticated collegiate circiuts up north, but on the dirt tracks with lanes marked out with whitewash.LIGHTNING BOLTS THEY NOW KNOW, CAN STRIKE IN THREES AND QUITE UNEXPECTEDLY. now they know the weather in jamaica; prepare for more at the world champonships in 2009.

it is a shame that the american media network NBC has displayed such a biased coverage of the olympic games. it seems they have a problem with other countries other than america excelling in sports.... shame on you nbc...please do better next time....regardless of the coverage bolt and the rest of the jamaican contingent remains great to the rest of the world...nbc you are alone
