Equestrian: Canadian Wins Finale
The equestrian competition in Hong Kong wrapped up Thursday night with Canadian Eric Lamaze winning the individual show jumping title aboard Hickstead.
Rolf-Goran Bengtsson and Ninja, Sweden, won the silver and American Beezie Madden, aboard Authentic, took the bronze.
American McLain Ward, on Sapphire, was sixth.

Bob Solomon - your comments are strange to me. He was penalized for using cocaine - not steroids. He paid the price. His past has nothing to do with his present.
He is clean and his story is an inspiration and his past shouldn't be used against him. He should be given CREDIT for rising above his mistakes.
Wow, I feel sorry for you if you don't believe in redemption.

Eric Lamaze has twice been penalized for drug infractions after wins, and for a short time faced a lifetime ban from competition, but a decision to reverse that latter penalty left him free to try again. As a result, I am torn, proud a fellow Canadian won gold after such embarrassing moments. But
also wondering about how serious we are about celebrating the Olympian spirit of fair competition among equals -- and not victory at any price. So far, of course, Lamaze's win is untarnished.
