(Update) Lorig Out in Quarters
American archer Khatuna Lorig, a native of the war-torn Republic of Georgia, upset Ana Maria Rendon of Columbia Colombia, 107-95, Thursday to advance to the quarterfinals, where she lost to the world's No. 1 ranked archer, Korea's Yun Ok-Hee.
Lorig competed for the Russian Unified Team in the 1992 Olympics and for Georgia in 1996 and 2000 before immigrating to the U.S. She missed the 2004 Athens games because her citizenship had not been approved yet.
She came into Thursday's competiton as the 26th seed.
