Leipheimer Wins Bronze

Levi Leipheimer won the bronze medal in the road cycling individual time trial Wednesday afternoon.

Lurking in fourth or fifth place most of his ride, he posted the second-fastest final split with a 12:51.97 to surge from fifth to third place and earn a spot on the medal stand.

Fabian Cancellara of Switzerland took the gold medal with a time of 1:02:11.43, more than 33 seconds ahead of silver medalist Gustav Larsson of Sweden, who covered the course in 1:02:44.79. Leipheimer's time was 1:03:21.11.
