What would be really funny is if the Dali Lama lit the cauldron. Imagine the scene if the leaders of Taiwan, China and the Dali Lama engaged in a group hug only to then light the cauldron. The IOC is just arrogant enough to think THEY can change the world with these games. Under that theory, they should award the 2016 games to Tehran.

'Spoiler Alert'? Isn't this entire blog a spoiler since NBC is pretending that the Opening Ceremonies isn't happening until 8 EDT?

I just got a mental image of one of those mechanical contraptions that breathe fire seen at monster truck events. LOL. I expect the reality will be much more impressive.
