Water Polo: U.S. Trails Hungary at Half

The United States men's water polo team trails favored Hungary, 9-8, at halftime of the gold medal match.

Tony Azevedo, the American captain, scored four goals for the U.S. in the first two quarters. Goalkeeper Merrill Moses, a key to the Americans' 10-5 victory over Serbia in the semifinals, has struggled, allowing more goals in the first half than he had in any of the past four games.

Hungary won the gold medal in 2004 in Athens. The U.S. has never won a gold medal, earning silvers in 1984 and '88.
