Jacobellis Wins Opener
Three-time X Games gold medalist Lindsey Jacobellis won the opening snowboardcross race in Argentina, her 15th World Cup victory.
"I'm happy," Jacobellis said. "I'm a competitive girl so if I start I want to win. Now, I can go home and tell my coach that he did a great job."
Mellie Francon of Switzerland was second and Zoe Gillings of Britain third. American Brooke Shaw was sixth.
Pierre Vaultier of France won the men's event, beating Norway's Stian Sivertzen and Mateusz Ligocki of Poland.
Nick Baumgartner led four U.S. men in the top 10. Baumgartner was fourth, Jonathan Cheever sixth, Pat Holland eighth and Nate Holland 10th.
The snowboardcross World Cup competition continues in December in Arosa, Switzerland.
