Partners Split by 'Dancing' (Update)

Gold medalist Kerri Walsh will get a new partner for next week's beach volleyball event in Dubai -- because of "Dancing With the Stars."

Walsh and partner Misty May-Treanor won the gold medal in Beijing. But May-Treanor has been competing on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars." So Walsh is partnering with 2008 Olympian Nicole Branagh, who with partner Elaine Youngs made the quarterfinals in Beijing.

May-Treanor suffered an injury on Friday, apparently while practicing for the show, that required "immediate medical attention," according to a statement released by the network. A decision will be made Monday on whether the beach volleyball star can continue to compete on the show.

Six U.S. teams will compete in Dubai, the first SWATCH FIVB World Tour event to be held in the Persian Gulf.
