Skaters Win Four in Salt Lake City
The U.S. short track speedskating team won a silver and three bronze medals this past weekend in Salt Lake City in the first World Cup event of the season.
Apolo Anton Ohno took bronze in the second men's 1,500 meters on Sunday, with rookie teammate J.R. Celski finishing sixth. American Jeff Simon won a bronze in the first men's 1,500 on Saturday.
Ohno was also on the 5,000 relay team -- along with Travis Jayner, Anthony Lobello and Jeff Simon -- that won silver behind the Korean team, which set a world record.
Ohno fell in the men's 1,000 on Saturday and finished fourth.
Incidentally, Ohno tells the Deseret News that the 2010 Games may be his last.
Kimberly Derrick won a bronze in the women's 1,000.
The U.S. team has another World Cup meet this weekend in Vancouver, British Columbia.
