German speedskater Pechstein loses appeal

Five-time Olympic speedskating champion Claudia Pechstein won't be winning another gold medal in Vancouver. The 37-year-old German lost her appeal to the Swiss Federal Tribunal to lift her two-year competition ban for blood doping.

Pechstein is Germany's most successful Winter Olympian with nine medals, and is also a six-time world champion.
