Russian skier Sidko thrown off Olympic team
Cross-country skier Alena Sidko has been dropped from Russia's Olympic team after testing positive for the hormone EPO.
Russian sporting authorities detected traces of the blood-boosting substance in a sample taken at a competition last month in Moscow.
Sidko, 30, won bronze in the individual sprint competition at the 2006 Turin Olympics and had been considered a medal contender in Vancouver.
