A Holiday Break

The On Parenting crew (Stacey and Mike) are taking a blogging break between now and New Year's. The blog will hop back into action on Jan. 2.

In the meantime, feel free to share your holiday joys and stresses in the comments. And if you come across any good topics you'd like to talk about in the new year, let us know.

Some joys and stresses in my house:

Stress: Time ran out to get annual holiday cards out to friends and family -- again! Oh, well.
Joy: Husband has this week off and spends it taking care of/playing with the boys.

Stress: Figuring out what to do on Christmas when EVERYTHING shuts down.
Joy: Our holiday was done before most of the rest of you. So, no need to enter a crowded store or worry about too much family in too small a space. It's simply life per usual.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year's everyone.

Stress: Waiting until the last minute before the boss remembered a holiday bonus (I did overspend just a bit)
Joy: Getting a nice chunk of change to smooth out the end of the year

Stress: Still unable to form hamburgers into patties which stay together
Joy: mushrooms make everything better

Overall it was a completely low stress holiday, partly because my partner is Jewish and we just do presents on christmas cuz it's fun and we spoil eachother.

This weekend may be different- I fly from TX to Baltimore and back to do christmas with the family.

No stress, we don't celebrate Xmas. We'll be out of town next week as everything starts picking up again - then it's off for MLK day.

Then, around the corner, it'll be spring again...

We went to the movies and had chinese food on the holiday. It was nice.

Just wait until this year -- Hannukah falls around the same time as Christmas.

Stress -- getting a holiday bonus and then spending it the next day to get my car ready for the road trip to NY. Needed a drive belt. Better safe then sorry, though.
