DNC statement on Angle's "slush fund" comments

From DNC spokesman Hari Sevugan:

"What Sharron Angle doesn't understand is that guaranteeing BP set aside funds to help Gulf Coast families who were hurt by BP's recklessness is not 'extortion.' It's accountability. It's not a 'slush fund.' It's the right thing to do. And while it is easy to dismiss Sharron Angle as someone with wacky views, her comments aren't those of an outlier of the Republican Party. They reflect the same apologetic attitude shown to big oil that we saw from the man Republicans put in charge of energy issues - Joe Barton. Sharron Angle isn't a Republican outlier. She's the Republican mainstream."
