BOOK WORLD - December 12, 2010

By Christopher Schoppa
Best Sellers

Our apologies for the lack of a political bestseller entry last week -- sales in the category were scant at best, and were duly reflected in the general bestseller list that was posted.

This week, perhaps due to holiday sales traffic, there are a bit more poli/sci titles that have sold --- a perfect 10, actually.

New to the list (well, it would actually have appeared last week if there were a list) is Palin's "America By Heart" --- what's surprising is that, though #2 on this list, it's not on the general list at all (it missed by a whisker, ranking at #11). Paul Farhi's recent story on the book might provide some context

Oliver North is back, continuing his series in conjunction with Fox News on America's military and their extraordinary service. They tend to come out close to the holidays, and thus sell well ...

And rounding out the list is "Scorpions," Noah Feldman (he's a professor at Harvard an adjunct fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations) examining a pivotal period in American history in relation to the Supreme Court and its decisions ...
