A political organization founded by Texas congressman Ron Paul is distributing free copies of a new book by his son, Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul, to every member of congress.

A spokesperson for Center Street, the book’s publisher, confirmed that volunteers from the Campaign for Liberty organization plan to give all 535 members a copy Rand Paul’s “The Tea Party Goes to Washington.” The book is being released on Tuesday.

“Obviously, we have a special relationship with Rand Paul,” said Campaign for Liberty’s senior vice president Jesse Benton. “We're a big fan of his and believe the book is going to be a great educational tool for members of congress.”

According to its Web site, the Campaign for Liberty’s mission is “to promote and defend the great American principles of individual liberty, constitutional government, sound money, free markets, and a noninterventionist foreign policy, by means of educational and political activity.”

Ron Paul launched Campaign for Liberty on June 13, 2008, after his campaign to become the 2008 Republican presidential candidate ended unsuccessfully.

His son’s political career has just begun. Rand Paul was sworn into office on Jan. 6, 2011. His book is largely a defense of the Tea Party movement.

I would find the book arriving in my mailbox offensive with the intent of being offensive.

That is so right-wing.

Great, I'm sure the Dem members of congress could use something to line their cat's litter box's with. The pages from Ayn Rand's rambling nonsense should do the trick.

While we're handing books to congress-critters, I would suggest, Milton Friedman's "Free to Choose", Adam Smith's "The Wealth of Nations", and a copy of the Constitution might also be in order!

I don't believe that democrats are in need of cat litter box liner, DrainYou...they've been using the Constitution for that purpose for about a century!
