What's going to be next is, in our secular-progressive society, they're going to try to revoke the federal holiday. You wait and see."

-- Fox's Bill O'Reilly when asked "what's next?" following atheists' attempts to put up a display near a Nativity scene in Washington state.

Cheap political histrionics from one of its sorriest practitioners, O"Reilly. There is no more chance of "revoking the federal holiday" on Dec. 25 than there is of the sun rising in the west & setting in the east. Bill's intemperate remark serves only to stoke passions among a cohort of fundamentalist religious extremists who are frantically trying to ram their own beliefs down the throats of every Jew, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Atheist, & freethinker in America.
Since the Constitution explicitly guarantees the separation of church & state, what O"Reilly & his band of know-nothings are trying to do is blatantly anti-American & blatantly illegal. Like millions of Americans, I find the oppressive onslaught of Christmas symbols offensive & do not wish to see my government endorse one particular set of religious beliefs over all others.
For centuries, Jews have persevered despite powerful religious majorities' efforts to squelch and/or convert them. O'Reilly is just another in a long line of advocates of religious tyranny; he won't be any more successful than Hitler or today's Muslim fundamentalists.
