As Cheney Seized Spotlight, Many Republicans Wince Washington Post | First off, the choice of the word "wince" by Dan Balz really characterizes the story, which details how some Republicans view the former vice president and his (currently) frequent appearances and comments on the state of the Republican Party, the Obama administration and its criticisms of former President George Bush's policies. Those Republicans don't want him representing the party today; they want to move on and don't want remnants of the past to keep cropping up. He's more visible now than he ever was.
Video: Astronauts Conduct Spacewalk to Repair Hubble Telescope Washington Post | I just saw the new "Star Trek" movie so I'm interested in the current mission and watching the live video from the Hubble repair up in space and listening to the astronauts and ground control. It's not as fast-paced as the movie was but it's fascinating to watch what they're doing up there and the pictures are unbelievably clear and colorful.
Rachel Alexandra Draws Outside Post for Preakness Washington Post | Rachel Alexander would be the first filly to win the Stakes since 1924 if it happens Saturday in Baltimore. The appeal of the horse has overshadowed the four finishers in the Kentucky Derby and Mine That Bird's upset win two weeks ago. But if Bird wins he's on his way to a Triple Crown.
Palin On Prejean Washington Post | She's still in the news, this time commenting on and defending "vicious attacks" from the far left and sounding inflamed about criticism leveled at Miss California, Carrie Prejean. Palin's always lurking around the national stage ever since last year's election. And there's more to tell in a book deal which she just signed with HarperCollins. The book is to be "co-released with its Christian publishing subsidiary, the same company that published Rick Warren's mega-seller, "The Purpose-Driven Life."
