At 8:30 a.m. -- The Commerce Department publishes its first estimate of economic growth in the second quarter. Economists surveyed by Bloomberg are predicting that the gross domestic product will have expanded at an annual rate of 2.6 percent.
At 9:55 a.m. -- The University of Michigan releases is index of consumer sentiment.
Starting about noon -- President Obama visits Chrysler and General Motors assembly plants in the Detroit area to talk about the companies' restructuring and the auto industry's recovery.
