At 10 a.m. - The Federal Housing Finance Agency, which regulates mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, issues its home price index for July.
At 10 a.m. -- The Senate Banking Committee holds a hearing on the Securities and Exchange Commission's investigation of R. Allen Stanford's alleged Ponzi scheme. Witnesses includes SEC Inspector General David Kotz and SEC enforcement chief Robert Khuzami.
At 10 a.m. - The Senate Budget committee holds a hearing on the government's response to the financial crisis and economic downturn.
At 2 p.m. - The Senate Judiciary Committee holds a hearing on prosecution of financial fraud. Witnesses include Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer and SEC enforcement chief Robert Khuzami.
At 2:30 p.m. - A Senate Commerce subcommittee holds a hearing on consumer data protection.
