Economic agenda: Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010

At noon -- The financial industry's investor education foundation releases its survey on American financial literacy.

At 2 p.m. -- A Senate Banking subcommittee and the Senate investigations subcommittee hold a joint hearing on the stability of U.S. financial markets. Witnesses include Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Mary Schapiro and Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chairman Gary Gensler.
