At 9:30 a.m. -- Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke testifies before the Senate Banking Committee on the state of the U.S. economy.
At 11:30 a.m. -- President Obama is expected to name Gene Sperling as head of the National Economic Council, replacing the departing Lawrence Summers.
