At 8:30 a.m. -- The Labor Department releases its weekly reading on new jobless claims.
At 10 a.m. -- The National Association of Realtors releases its existing-home sales data. Existing home sales are forecasted to have risen in December. Analysts expect a 3.8 percent rise, following a 5.6 percent November rise.
