EPA announces plans to regulate power plant, oil refinery emissions

The Environmental Protection Agency announced Thursday that it would regulate greenhouse gas emissions from power plants and oil refineries next year, targeting the nation's two biggest sources of carbon dioxide.

The Environmental Protection Agency will announce Thursday details of how it will regulate greenhouse gas emissions from power plants and oil refineries, according to several sources,targeted the biggest single sources of the nation's annual carbon output.

National Commission on Energy Policy shuts down

In yet another sign of how the drive for energy reform is fizzling, the Bipartisan Policy Center announced Tuesday that it is shutting down its National Commission on Energy Policy project.
