Heading Into Day 3

My main goal today is to stay upright and conscious.

I have two high-profile meetings today -- one with Activision where I'm assuming they will probably show me and maybe let me play Call of Duty 3, then another appointment with Microsoft. I'd like to get their take on the 360 and the Wii, and everything being shown on the show floor today.

Microsoft has been pretty quiet this year, but then again, when you think about it, they're the only company that has a working next-generation console.

I did see some games on the show floor -- such as a Madden 07 demo -- running side-by-side on both the PS3 and Xbox 360, and to me they looked identical. I don't really see what the point of paying an extra $300 to get a PS3 is if the games are going to look exactly the same as they look on the 360.

After that I'm going to go by and see both Nokia and SNK and see what they've got going on in the mobile world.

The point of paying extra for the PS3 is to get the blu ray high definition DVD capabilities at a fraction of the cost for a stand alone HD DVD player. You kill two birds with one stone, HD DVD entertainment, and a state of the art game playing consol.
