Tech Tip Of The Day: Don't Drop Stuff
This morning I wrote about a little phenomenon called "e-mail bankruptcy," in which beleaguered e-mailers send a note to everyone in their inbox saying they've given up on trying to tackle to their backlog of e-mail.
The story runs at sort of a funny time for me, because just this week I had a little tech accident that feels, to me, just about as catastrophic as if I gave up access to my e-mail. My Palm Tungsten handheld hit the floor the wrong way earlier this week, killing the screen. The result: most of the information I need on a regular basis is now no longer accessible by simply reaching into my pocket. I do have a lot of it, from over the years, backed up and readily available on my desktop computer at home, but I haven't backed up my Palm in a few months due to a connection error I never got resolved. (Yes -- you bet, I regret not fixing that problem now.)
Soooooo: If anybody out there in cyberland happens to have a meeting with me, can you send me a reminder? (Jon: When is the Manu Chao concert, again?)
